Setting Up Your Gym on GYMBOX: A Complete Guide

Getting your gym set up on GYMBOX takes less than 30 minutes, and this guide walks you through every step. By the end, you'll have a fully configured gym profile, subscription plans ready for members, and check-in enabled — all from your web dashboard.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Head to gymboxhq.com and click "Get Started." You'll be asked for your name, email, phone number, and a password. You can also sign in with Google if you prefer. Once you verify your email, you're in.

Step 2: Set Up Your Gym Profile

After logging in for the first time, you'll be guided through a setup wizard. Enter your gym's name, address, phone number, and operating hours. Upload your gym's logo and a few photos of your facility — these will appear in the member app when people search for gyms in your area.

Take your time with this step. Your gym profile is the first thing potential members see, so make it accurate and appealing.

Step 3: Configure Subscription Plans

Next, set up the membership plans you offer. GYMBOX lets you create multiple plans — for example, a Basic plan for gym-only access, a Premium plan that includes personal training sessions, or a Student plan with a discounted rate.

For each plan, you'll set the name, price, billing frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually), and what's included. You can also set a trial period if you offer one.

Step 4: Enable Payment Processing

Connect your bank account to receive payments from members. GYMBOX supports direct bank transfers, card payments, and USSD. We partner with trusted Nigerian payment processors to ensure your money arrives quickly and securely.

Once connected, members can pay for their subscriptions directly through the app, and you'll see all transactions in your dashboard's financial reports.

Step 5: Set Up Check-In

GYMBOX offers GPS-based auto check-in, which means members are automatically checked in when they arrive at your gym's location. To enable this, confirm your gym's GPS coordinates on the map in your settings. You can also set a check-in radius (we recommend 50-100 meters).

On the Starter plan, you'll use manual check-in instead, where members check in by tapping a button in the app when they arrive.

Step 6: Invite Your Members

You're almost live. Now it's time to get members on board. GYMBOX gives you a unique gym code and an invite link that you can share. Members download the GYMBOX app from the App Store or Google Play, enter your gym code or tap your invite link, and they're connected to your gym.

You can also add members manually from your dashboard if you prefer, or import a list of existing members from a spreadsheet.

Step 7: Explore Advanced Features

Once your gym is live, explore the rest of what GYMBOX offers: create training plans for members, set up your in-app store, configure the community feed, and check out the analytics dashboard to start tracking your gym's performance.

You're Live

That's it. Your gym is now on GYMBOX, and you have everything you need to manage members, process payments, track attendance, and grow your business. If you run into any questions along the way, our support team is always available at support@gymboxhq.com or via WhatsApp.

Welcome to GYMBOX. Let's build something great.
